Travel

Although we are not located on a public transport route, you can still reach us with ease. The nearest train station is Greenock Central Station, situated 5 miles away. From there, you can take a taxi—including accessible taxis—directly to the farm by contacting Inverclyde Taxis at 01475 734 563. Alternatively, you may take a public bus to either Greenock or Kilmacolm and then complete your journey with a short taxi ride. The farm is accessible via a 1-mile single-track tarmac public road with passing places.

Parking & Steading Area

Upon arrival, you’ll find plenty of space to turn and park vehicles, whether it’s a car, mobile home, or a bus with up to 40 seats. The surface is hardstanding and fairly level, providing direct access to the concrete reception area. In addition, wheelchair users can manoeuvre around most of the steading with ease and will certainly be able to hear the full tour.

Reception Area

The reception shed is open-sided and features a level concrete floor, making entry straightforward. There are two trough-style wash hand facilities with warm water, positioned at heights of 61 cm and 91 cm to suit various needs. Furthermore, the toilet area includes a door width of 78.5 cm, a toilet height of 45.5 cm, and a wash hand basin set at 83.5 cm. The toilet light operates via a cord pull for convenience. If you need to keep any medication chilled, a fridge is available in the reception area.

Access to the Farm Trailer

For those with Additional Support Needs who are able to transfer from a wheelchair into a seat, we offer trailer access. The step into the trailer is 33 cm high. Once inside, you’ll find rubber-topped bench seating equipped with seat belts for safety.

Access to the Buggy

Similarly, our buggy is accessible to those with Additional Support Needs who can transfer into a seat. The step into the buggy is 35.5 cm high, and the buggy includes seat belts for safety. We can accommodate up to 2 people at a time in the buggy.

Dogs

As we are a working farm, dogs are not permitted. However, if you use an assistance dog due to a disability, please contact us in advance. We would be happy to discuss which areas of the farm can be made accessible for you and your dog.

VIP Tours

Finally, our VIP tours are an excellent option for visitors who are autistic or have hearing or noise sensitivities. These tours are also well-suited for those accompanied by a 1-to-1 carer, offering a more personalised and calm experience.
